Last year, for the first time ever, a contingent representing York Pride Fest and other York Region LGBT organizations participated in the Toronto Pride Parade. And, we'll be doing so once again in 2009. This year, we will have a float which will be a decorated boat, mounted on a trailer and towed by a vehicle.

We are presently looking for volunteers to help decorate our float and/or join our contingent in the parade. We believe that we can accommodate 4-6 people in the boat, but we also need at least 6 people on foot. Although there are no rules regarding dress, we are trying to encourage participants to wear colourful beach shorts and equally colourful tees. Additionally, we also need volunteers who could help us out with our Community Fair booth on Wellesley, for a few hours on either Sat 27th and/or Sun 28th.
